In the beginning of the year, Norway had an increase in the number of covid-cases and entered the third wave. However, the vaccination process had also begun. As more people got vaccinated, in combination with strict regulations in travel and social events, Norway was able to open more of its borders and lift other restrictions in time for summer. June is the only summer month during the first half of 2021, so even with less restrictions, the accumulated numbers are weak.
